South Forsyth students advance to history competition regionals

CUMMING, GA — On Feb. 11, students from South Forsyth High School competed in the Northeast Georgia Regional History Day competition held at the University of Georgia. Seven projects were submitted to the contest and all seven projects will advance to the state level competition to be held on April 22 at Mercer University.  

First place winners include Vanessa Ahn and Noelle Park for their documentary, Daisy Little for her performance of Frida Khalo, Aditya Bhave and Emily Goncalves for their website on the Cuban Missile Crisis, and Will Logsdon and Isabella Weng for their exhibit on race relations in Forsyth.

Second place winners include Chloe Nathan and Will Sherlock for their documentary on the White Rose Society, and Sahil Kini and Om Purohit for their website on the battle of Stalingrad.

Third place winners include Sai Kollapaneni, Roshan Konda, Ritvik Sarasani, Charan Senthil Kumar and Omkar Waingankar for their exhibit on nuclear weapons.
