CUMMING, Ga. — The Cumming Fairgrounds staff recently wrapped up another successful Country Fair and Festival on Oct. 15.

This year's fair was somewhat negatively impacted by rainy weather. Staff members had to close the fair the first Sunday, and a few other days saw reduced attendance due to damp and dreary conditions. Despite the unideal weather conditions, the fair still drew a total of more than 172,000 patrons over 11 days.

During the October City Council meeting, Mayor H. Ford Gravitt praised City of Cumming employees for their hard work over the course of the event.

"It was a great 11 days," Gravitt said. "I especially want to thank our law enforcement officers for keeping everyone safe, and Dave Horton (Fairgrounds Director) and his staff for all of their hard work to always make the fair a wonderful event for our community."
