CUMMING, Ga. — Christmas activities will be taking place at the Cumming Playhouse, located at 101 School Street, on Nov. 24, the Friday immediately following Thanksgiving.

The festive fun begins with the debut of “Sanders Family Christmas,” the Christmas-themed sequel to the popular “Smoke on the Mountain,” which saw many sell-out performances at the Playhouse in 2015 and 2016.

Featuring more than 25 bluegrass and traditional Christmas songs performed by north Georgia’s “The Skillet Lickers” and several returning cast members, “Sanders Family Christmas” runs Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through Dec. 10.

During the remainder of December, the Cumming Playhouse will be filled with concerts and productions from local groups, including «Christmas Classics 2017,» the Forsyth Philharmonic, North Georgia Barber Shop Singers, the Cumming Playhouse Singers and the Sounds of Sawnee Community Band.

The Cumming Playhouse closes out 2017 with the Sentimental Journey Orchestra during two New Year›s Eve performances at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m.
